Osu Castle has changed hands many times across four centuries of Ghanaian history. This production restages that history as a living ceremony, grounded in archival research and staged for a contemporary diplomatic audience.

    Original Construction

    The fort that would become Osu Castle is built.

    Symbol of Independence

    The castle becomes a seat of government for the newly independent Ghana.

Commissioned to mark a pivotal moment in Ghanaian history, this large-scale reenactment brought together over forty performers, diplomatic guests and historians for a single unforgettable evening at Osu Castle.
